David Howden, PhD, is a professor of economics at Saint Louis University´s campus in Madrid, Spain, and a well-known “Austrian school” economist. He holds a doctorate in economics and is the author of over 50 publications on money, interest rates, and the business cycle.
Dr. Howden is an Associate Scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and was formerly the Academic Vice President of Mises Canada. Since 2011 he has been a Senior Academic Fellow of the UK-based Cobden Centre. He also serves as an editorial board member of several academic journals.
A frequent commentator on economic issues, Dr. Howden has been featured on the BBC, Canada´s Globe and Mail, Israel National Radio, and the Icelandic National Broadcasting Service, among other news outlets. He lives with his family in Madrid, Spain
